| Description*: | Nine years ago, in an English class long ago, I came up with a title: “Flashlight in Your Eye”. That title was meant to encapsulate what it means to self-inflict (temporary) blindness to oneself. In that state, the body, mind and senses need to re-adjust to their surroundings, accommodate difference and concentrate on co-ordinating future actions. It’s a metaphor of course and intended to encourage people to look at things from a new perspective. I have been thinking about the past lately, about my art, and about what I’m doing to continue speaking through it. I adopted this old title once again as I felt it was appropriate for the “next step”. My artistic experiences in the last ten years have come to include graphic design, photo manipulation, sequential art and video. This project is meant to take me on a journey into the past, reflect on the present and contemplate the future. I hope you enjoying coming along on this journey with me as well! | ||||
