| Description*: | The Mother of all superheroes! There are few uniquely female superheroes in comic books. Most of them are bland bimbos or sexed-up copies of popular male characters. Birth of Venus is an attempt to create a strong female hero with an origin that stems from the most exclusive of female experiences: pregnancy! Mara Mercer is an ordinary young woman who develops superpowers when she becomes pregnant with the child of a supervillain. As the child develops inside her, so do her powers. These extraordinary abilities may only last for a nine month term, and Mara must choose between using her powers to seek revenge against her attacker or to fulfill a greater role in the world as a true superhero. | ||||
