Description*:	Created in 1968 by Addison (pen name of Mort Walker), BONER'S ARK starred Captain Boner, an inept ship's skipper who made the big mistake of bringing only one animal of each kind aboard his ark. The vessel was populated by a whole cast of characters such as Aarnie the aardvark, who cries "Land Ho!" when he weeds the ark's flowerpot; Priscilla Pig, a very vain porcine protagonist; Dum Dum the gorilla, not the brightest light in the firmament; Duke the penguin, whose tuxedo-like attire makes him look like the man about town; and Cubcake the koala, who name was chosen in a competition that generated more than 50,000 letters. The humor was mined from the everyday interactions between these hapless creatures who were always hopelessly at sea, Frank Johnson took over the drawing in 1982 and continued the strip until 2000.
