| Description*: | Furries meet giant robots! (Go Nagai style - Getter Robot, Mazinger Z etc.) Italian comic with ongoing English translation. Maya is a world of anthropomorphic, talking animals. Five years ago, they were abuzz with the discovery of interstellar travel, and not being alone in the Universe. Five years later, they wish they were alone. Humans have invaded Maya, and are now very busy... turning its inhabitants into canned food, and shipping it back to an overpopulated, starving Earth. The Humans' Cybernetic Weapons (OK, giant robots!) seem unstoppable. Resistance is quelled with extreme brutality. The last hope of Maya lies in the Doubutsukai, a hidden fortress whose very existence many dismiss as a legend. Many dogs have sworn loyalty to the human invaders, drawing on their kind the hatred of the other animal species in Maya. Nero is a dog seeking revenge, after his town was destroyed. He will find the Doubutsukai, join Doubutsu Sentai (Animal Combat Team) Zooqquadrion, and fly into battle with the Zooqquadrion, a giant anthropomorphic dragon robot. But is there any true hope left for Maya? And are the Humans the only enemies Nero and his friends will face? Oh, and the name of the robot is a pun - in Italian, "soqquadro" means "confusion", "disorder". Why the rating? While sex is mostly suggested (lotsa nudity and innuendo tho!), the comic includes (in no particular order) *very* graphic (albeit cartoony) representation of the following: lynching, torture, sentient beings used as food, use of WMD on defenseless civilians, mutilation, prisoners (including kids) used as guinea pigs for "scientific" experiments, execution of POWs, etc. etc., all of the above sparkled with an 'interesting' take on the Biblical tale of Creation... You have been warned. *** UPDATE (December 2010) New website, episodes 1-21 (in Italian) and 1-7 (in English) online again; also episodes 22-23 (in Italian) uploaded, episode 24 (final?) in progress. | ||||
