Trying too hard.
Everything about this comic feels forced. Nothing is natural. The characters do not behave normally, the plot makes little sense, and the big reveals make you depressed. The art is fine mechanically and the general plot is interesting, but the execution of both is lacking.
The first big problem is solved in the most contrived of ways, the author calls attention to how bad it is and moves on. It took me about 15 seconds to come up with a much better way to handle the problem.
Nor does it improve. Being good at everything and great at nothing makes for a bland read. Give it a pass.
