Description*: | The dreamworld is a mysterious reality that parallels our own. humans cannot enter this reality - we can only catch fleeting glimpses of it through our dreaming, unconscious minds. Dark things lurk in this fantasy world, however - and we are vulnerable while we sleep. They thirst to cross from their world into our unconscious and defenseless minds - using our dreams as the bridge. The only thing blocking their path is the existence of the dreamkeepers. Dreamkeepers: Prelude is the "current" comic. Dreamkeepers is a for-purchase comic (excerpts on the website). | ||||

the webcomic version of dreamkeepers takes place a few years before the events of the graphic novels. the artwork is great and if you read the novels these provide some fantastic insight on them and go a long way towards character development. even if you dont read the novels this comic is still worth a read through.
the graphic novels of dreamkeepers contain some of the most fantastic art i have ever seen on a comic. the year long waits are almost justified due to the incredible detail the authors languish over the art and storyline. i would very easily pay $20 over the $2 they charge for each one.

REVIEW OF THE FREE COMIC:
Cute, silly, and very well done. the art is excellent, and has a good story to match. Switching between two stories can get frustrating, because I never want to leave whatever storyline I am in. It only updates once a week, and that means that the switch can be severe. Still, you should catch up, then let it sit for a while. It stands alone fine, and I would recommend it even if you won't buy the volmues.
REVIEW OF THE $2 COMIC
Both volumes are worth the buy. They are even better than the free version in story, art and character. It takes on a more serious air, and is quite exciting. However, the schedule for new volumes is measured in years. Together they give a very nice view of the beautiful world.

The preludes comic has two storylines, both of which are full of zany hijinks, which several times have made me laugh loud enough to disturb my cats. Recommended.
