A wonderful comic. It begins so simple and innocent, but as it continues the scale of the mysteries behind "Gunnerkrigg Court" develop way out of what you'd first expect.
The main characters are very likeable and change a lot through the events in the comic.
Just as the art strongly improves over time (and it did start at a very good quality already).
Don't read thios though if you do not like to have questions left unanswered. It is full of them!

This is one of the more difficult ones. The characters are written well, the setting is intriguing, and the art is not only fantastic but shows an incredible variety, becoming more or less complex based on what it wants to tell. The plot, on the other hand, is...convoluted.
Don't get me wrong. It's a good, gripping plot. However, the connections you need to make are staggering sometimes: who's good, who's bad, who's on who's side, who is she, WHAT is she, who's related to who, etc.
Don't read this comic unless you are willing to put in extra effort into understanding it. However, if you are, get ready for a wild and fantastic ride.

Why isn't she surprised? : )
This comic is mostly serious with a number of very unique adventures that delight the imagination. The main character is quite deep and it is hard to know what she is thinking most of the time. I only recall one time when she loses her composure. Thus she approaches the most daunting and scary tasks with great composure and logic.
It is broken into short, nearly stand alone chapters and the flow of the comic is quite good.
The art style is also unique and fits the storyline well.
Also, the author makes fun of his story and characters below most of the pages.
